Course Overview
Blender is widely known as an animation software, but it has also become a powerful tool across many creative industries, including jewellery design, furniture design, digital art, and concept development. In addition to screen-based outputs, Blender is also extensively used for 3D printing.
This course explores Blender’s versatility beyond animation, focusing on practical applications in modelling, rendering, and product design. Students will learn to create both low-poly and realistic 3D visuals, as well as design objects suitable for 3D printing, such as home décor items and jewellery.
The training covers key techniques including low-poly modelling, subdivision (sub-D) modelling, texturing, and working with external 3D data such as scanned models. Practical projects include creating a low-poly landscape, rendering realistic still-life scenes, and designing objects such as coasters, rings, and desk accessories.
By the end of the course, students will be able to produce clean low-poly renders, create realistic models with proper lighting and textures, and design 3D models ready for 3D printing. They will also gain an understanding of how to import, clean, and prepare external 3D files for production.
