About Amanda Ransom Designs

Amanda Ransom leads the creative team at her eponymous company. Her career began with Soane and Melissa Wyndham Limited, where she honed her skills before working alongside Caroline Percy of Hotspur Design on important historic properties in both London and the countryside. She later established her own practice, bringing together her expertise and passion for classical interiors.

Amanda originally read History of Art at university before embarking on a successful 15-year career as a City stockbroker. This experience sharpened her commercial acumen an invaluable skill in running her design business. Driven by a long-standing passion for architecture and interiors, she retrained, earning a Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design from the Inchbald School of Design in 2008.

Her dedication to traditional design is further reflected in her professional memberships. Amanda is an Associate Member of both the British Institute of Interior Design and the Traditional Architecture Group, as well as a member of the Georgian Group, the Historic Houses Association, the Furniture History Society, and the Wallpaper History Society. She actively attends conferences, lectures, and house visits to deepen her knowledge of historic interiors and has given talks on the subject.
